Poor Clubhouse Beer Action again tonight. Cans of Guinness, bottles of Bud & Amstel on display. But, I thought I'd ask anyway - "just those?". Yes. Although, as I walked away, the lady helpfully called me back. "We've got John Smith's as well". Not a specific criticism. But grassroots Clubhouses could easily up their can game. 

I'd not even been able to grab owt in The Tremenheere 'spoons in Penzance. Although, helpfully again, the pissed up loon on the next table offered to sell my fellow Carrier Bagger a bottle of Gin. Never change……

The Beer Saviour was the lovely The Crown in Penzance. Brewery Tap for Cornish Crown Brewery. A small single room affair. Just four Covid Compliant tables. (Although you'd struggle to get more in anyway). All those tables were already full as I masked in the door. No Drama. Pub Triage. Invited to take a seat outside. Order a beer. Said beer brought out. She'll come and shout you in if/when a table clears. We were 2nd in the Triage. And were sat inside within 10mins. 

I went; 

Cornish Crown, Madagascan Vanilla Porter on cask at 5.2%. And, that was glorious. I noticed mention of Bourbon Barrels on the clip. Quite a gentle beer. But, that allowed the flavours to develop a bit. I deffo got some barrel spirit abv burn. That was the predominant flavour, glowing all around my mouth. 

As I sat in my seat at Trungle Parc (my 366th Ground Tick), the Mousehole Nostradamus turned to me & said "be double figures tonight". Very welcoming & friendly, like everyone else at the club. But. Poor really. Only EIGHT in the end. And, I'll fucking tell you what, the Atlantic Keeper has been the best player on the Parc - by a distance. Flying tip overs. Schmeichel make yourself big, star jump saves, diving at people's feet, point blank reactions. Oh, and the occasional, he's basically turned his back to that one & it's hit him. Could have been fifteen, easy. 

And. I'm sorry. But maybe that's a tale about this league. Atlantic have lost 9, drawn 1 & shipped 48 goals. But, in the Premier East, Stoke Gabriel have shipped ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO goals in ten games. Scored two, mind.
