Played at Wembley Stadium
An efficient, bordering on clinical, win for England. All done & dusted by half time. Allowing plenty of time for paper planes thrown on the pitch, scrunching up the Tifo Flag display bits of paper into balls & throwing them at the cameramen, Mexican fucking waves, and nipping to the kiosk for the "traditional" football snack of popcorn.
Weekend Wembley can be fantastic. With loads of kids, often attending their first match and full of wonder. But, the downside can be an anti-football feel around the place.
Anyway. That defending from the Albanians. Woeful. Every marker seemed to lose their man at set pieces, and then not be able to find him again, maybe finding someone different. It seemed at times there'd be three England players free at each play. Plus, they all seemed to be getting hurt, needing treatment, when nothing had happened around them. But, essentially, they were given the run around & then some by an efficient England team.
The inevitable fuck about trying to get a 48 hour Covid test to enter Italy for the forthcoming San Marino game meant we found ourselves in South London for the pre game. We hit…

I wish I'd kept the Ticks up-to-date. That is certainly the third different location of The Kernel I've been to (& maybe the fourth). Anyway, this is very much a dedicated bar (rather than a bar within a brewery. I counted fifteen of theirs on the board - no guests.
The Kernel, Pale Ale Idaho 7 on Keg at 5.1%
Took a little bit of getting used to. But once my buds had adapted, I got a lot of lovely marmalade. Bitter orange, becoming sweeter as I got down it. (3.75/5)

I love trying these low abv beers. You'd expect one from The Kernel to be just banging. It was lovely. A nice bit of body. But pretty ordinary in the Hop battalion.
