Standard day up at Hallam after the FA Vase madness of the previous week. That's if you count an attendance of 529, at Step 6, as a standard day.
I can report that today, unlike last week, it was actually possible to see the building, which houses the 1860 bar. You couldn't fucking get in after half two mind. But, you could at least see it.
We natch went for Salt LOOM on Keg at 4%.
Weirdly. That tasted a bit under the weather this week. A tad insipid. And the bitterness more dandelion.
Hallam clearly had a few glitches following the Vase heroics. Ann's Cabin was closed. Sack The Board. The Card Machine was playing up. And, there was no printed programme. This is not a drill. THERE WAS NO PRINTED PROGRAMME. Sack The Board and burn the fucking thing down.
Teamsheets handed out free saved the day from complete disaster.
No such glitches over the white lines though. A strong, getting stronger, performance from the Men of Country. Great battle in the first half. But Hallam cap-it-alised on 57. A ball into the left channel, and I swear Iren Wilson was in his own half when he started the chase. He took it into the box. Two defenders converging on him. But he got a powerful shot off. Superb. One Nil.
Not long after, Pickering's Drury was sent off. Two yellows I think. And in the Hoo Haa, Robinson was Sin Binned for the explanation of his concerns to the Ref. Town down to Nine for a bit.
On 70, Hallam worked the ball out wide right. A high, deep cross like your Mother used to make was bang on Brandon Bradbury's Bonce. He headed back across goal. And in for Two Nil.
It was all finished off on 80. Another deep righty wingy thingy. This time from a corner. Keeps spilled the header and Scott Ruthven knocked home.
Unfortunately, he couldn't take the programme home as a souvenir. Nor celebrate with a Pasty. And, if he wanted to buy his teammates a LOOM to mark the occasion, it would have been Cash Only.
