No titsa Today

CD Marino 4 v UD Gran Tarajal 0
Tercera División RFEF 12 (Canarias)
Spanish Pyramid Tier 5
Sunday 17 March 2024
Played at Estadio Antonio Dominguez Alfonso
Ground Tick #479
Spanish Beer Ticks up to 61

Much easier logistics for today's game. The ADA is right in the middle of Playa de las Americas. And you can see the floodlights from the hotel. No titsa today.

Today's opponents are from Fuerteventura. I do wonder whether kick off times are sorted around ferry and/or flight timetables. And, there was a big Carnival in Los Cristianos. AnyRoadUp. We've got a Noon kick off on the next street from the hotel. At my 479th ground tick.

More importantly, that kick off time has allowed us a bit of proper beer ticking. At the Eccentric Opening Times Arms. More formally known as;

Popeye
Calle peatonal madrid, Edificio fontana, local 8, 38650 Los Cristianos

A nice, bit of everything gaff. EURO Lager with footie on the tele. Belgian beers on tap. A Guinness wiggling machine. And, crucially, one Spanish micro on Tap. And a few to go at in the fridge.

Agüita! Cerveza Artesanal (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Hoppy Pilsen on Keg at 4.8%

Variously described as Session IPA and/or Indian Pale Lager. Whatevs. Very welcome opaque beer. Lots of upfront flavour. Feels like we're back in the room after all the Euro Lagers at the Footie. Some peach, but a lot of bitter an' all.

Agüita! Cerveza Artesanal, La Morenita, Stout from a bottle at 4.7%

Today. Match Day. My hotel had a Green Foam Pool Party. With a Corrs tribute band plink plinking away. Because today was - no, that's the flag of the Republic of Ireland, not the flag of - St Patrick(‘s) Day. The big planters in reception had been cunningly turned into leprechaun hats.

So, as I am contractually required to do, I went for this dark, sweet Guinness Buster.

In this, essentially, Beer Blog I'm also going to give a shout to;

TACOA Cervezas Artesanales (Tenerife)
Drago Cervezas Artesanal (Gran Canaria)
Cerveza Gara (La Palma)
Cerveza NAO (Lanzarote)
Cerveza Artesanal Layla (La Gomera)
Kuf Kuf Cerveza Artesanal (El Hierro)
Majorera (Fuerteventura)

Look. I'm betting there's a right old fucking argument to be had about how many Canary Islands there are.

“Oh well. That's just a fucking big rock sticking up. If you're going to count that, I'm going to count…”

Arguments about what counts as as Island are as old as the Carrier Bag Firm itself.

But, TACOA are saying SEVEN Islands. Got Beef. Take it up with TACOA. Because TACOA have collaborated with those breweries from the SIX other Islands to produce.

7 Islas, Red Ale from a bottle at 7%

Here's that seven breweries, on seven different islands, Collaboration meeting in full;

“We've made this Beer. Can we put your name on it?”

A nice Malt Bomb. Thin mouthfeel, which suited it. (That drank in The Vault Bar).

Natch. There was also beer in the ground.

Compañía Cervecera de Canarias (Tenerife), Dorada Especial, Lager on Keg at 5.7%

A somewhat straightforward win for the home team. A great opener on 13. A run towards the box. It opens up for him. Shoooot. Does. From way out. Scores.

Ludicrous Fuerteventura-ian defending on 17. The defence drop deep on a false run free kick routine. Don't bother pushing forward to recover the line. Great glancing header from a lot further forward than he should be. Two nil.

Two more just after half time and it all turned a bit pedestrian.
