453 Australian Beer Ticks
A write off. One wicket all day. Little saving grace. I won't knock Smith. Clearly, we are watching one of the all time greats. Check earlier Blogs. I've always quite liked the bloke. On days like today. You just have to find some way of having some control for some of the time. Let 'em have the one. Line & length for hours. Funky fields. Slow it down. Get in someone's face. Some way. I'm not sure England did. We're not in rabble territory. But, we've got to regain some control.
So. Where did we get our kicks. Blagged some good seats up at the top of the Lillee/Marsh. And spent the last hour in The Outer. Some great Aussie Buffoonery. The basic technique is to do something ridic. Right there with the Steward.
One of the reasons we were out there in Bandit Country was the Mid Strength. Strike me. There was actually a Tick out there. A James Squire Three n Half Percenter called Mid River Pale Ale. I'm not knocking that either. Far better than alternatively available bland sugar water.
Later. I devoured an Otherside Brewing Co, Anthem, India Pale Ale from a tin at 6.2%. Not a great deal wrong with it. But, a little underwhelming. Smelled lovely. But, not backed up. It felt a bit thin. But, if you waited, the bitterness did get there.
